ArtCares! Hosts Tsunami Relief Effort for the International Red Cross - Works of Salvador Dali, and Laurance Rassin To Be Auctioned for Charity

Philadelphians can help in Tsunami Aid Relief efforts by attending the ArtCares! event in Philadelphia, January 14th. American Red Cross will be taking donations, and a silent auction of Salvador Dali, and Laurance Rassin artworks will be held. Live music, and food as well.

Philadelphia, PA January 7, 2005 -- On Friday, January 14th, Philadelphians struck by the enormity of the Tsunami disaster can share in the process of healing in a very direct way.

ArtCares!, along with the International & American Red Cross, invite you to participate in an evening to "help make a difference" to the global regions adversely affected by the events of the last few weeks.

This event will directly raise funds for the international Tsunami relief efforts. Proceeds from a planned silent art auction will go to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. Donations can also be made to Red Cross volunteers on hand.

We dont want any misperceptions about where the money is going. To that end, we are fortunate Red Cross representatives will be joining us at the Butchers Cafn January 14th to accept even the smallest donation, stated ArtCares! director, Scott Shuster who is hosting the event.

I hope, together with the American Red Cross, we can spur other artists, organizations and individuals to continue this enormous and important relief effort, says Laurance Rassin co-founder and inspiration behind ArtCares!. Art & music exhibitions that make a difference change lives ... is really the goal of our newly formed group," claims Rassin. The self taught artist's work is featured regularly in Art Matters Magazine, and can also be seen MTVs program Real World Philadelphia", and recently he appeared on Philadelphia's NBC 10's "10!" show. Laurance's canvases will be showcased during the silent auction at The Butcher's Cafe, and again for a charitable cause the first weekend in March, at major Red Cross event in South Florida.

Rassin says attendees of the event will be treated to some well known fine art as well. We are blessed by additional support from I. Brewster Gallery & Co.; they are generously donating Salvador Dali pieces to the silent charity auction. This is a rare opportunity to bid on, and view other important works from this famous surrealist. The chance to view the works will surely create further interest in the Dali exhibition coming in February to The Philadelphia Museum of Art."

During the fundraiser, The Butchers Cafill offer wine and signature dishes prepared by new chef Todd Bergman.
